Attendin' a Wedding @ Suburbia

Transported the gown and stuff to the changing/VIP room of Suburbia.
Quick snapshot after taking care of logistics for the Bride & Groom =)

1st march in for the lovely couple

The whole Garden Party Wedding was a novel concept, but an excellent idea considering that most of the Bride's colleagues are "Frenchies" as I like to call them.

Solemnisation with a humorous Justice of Peace.

She joked about the way they answered the questions, how "one hesitates while the other isn't sure."

But really, it's so hard to get it right, right?!?

There's the "Do you take this woman/man to be your lawfully wedded... Blah blah blah", to which the response is "I do."

Then there's "Will you love and cherish him/her, in sickness and in health... Blah blah blah", to which the response is "I will."

But often times, the sentences stretch soooooo long, your mind starts to wander, or focuses on whatever's being read out to describe the HUGE commitment you're about to make.

And before you know it, silence, waiting for your response, but you've forgotten the question!

After all, it's not every other day that we practice wedding vows and say them out loud to random people on the streets. =P

A very blurry shot.. Yes, I'm blaming the photog in this case.
But I must say that that is one sexy Roman influence gown. *grinz*

Guess who put the flower there and quickly snapped a pic?
kekeke So cute.

Weddings are tiring!

Souffle Success Story

Finally! We nailed a Jean-Georges Recipe =)

Dusted with Confectioners' Sugar on top.

Here's a sorta side view:

Okay, I regret not taking a picture as it was actually "poof"-ing up.

*mental note to take pictures of stuff as it's baking in the oven*

And what is perfection if it can't stand the test of a close-up?
Check it out..

Crisp as Creme Brulee on the outside, but still
airy & oozing with chocolaty sweetness on the inside.

We didn't just nail this recipe, we totally rocked it!

Jean-Georges Weekend 1

After buying the ingredients on Friday night,
wy & ym attempt a simple Garlic Soup by Jean-Georges..

Finished product shown below:

And his famous Steak with Red Wine Reduction and Carrot Puree

Very simply paired with some boiled long beans on the side.

Some comments:

I generally felt the Garlic Soup was not a let down, although regrettably we couldn't make our own chicken stock because we didn't want to waste 1kg worth of chicken doing it. In spite of that and the lack of cloves (sold out at the supermarket), the thyme and loads of garlic still made the soup delicious.

The Red Wine Reduction and Carrot Puree tasted a bit too sour for our liking, perhaps because the red wine wasn't boiled long enough over a charcoal stove (I only have gas stoves) to reduce into one small cup of syrupy essence.

All-in-all worth trying again, when we're feeling a bit richer or when we know where to find
all the ingredients! Can't wait to try other recipes.. *winks*
